Federica Cavazzuti is currently a PhD candidate in Archaeological, Historical and Historical-Artistic Sciences at the University of Turin, Italy. Her research focuses on Japanese women photographers from the mid-20th century to present times. She received her BA in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bologna, Italy, and her Postgraduate degree in Language and Culture of Eastern Asia at Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, Italy. She obtained an MA in Contemporary Art and Art Theory of Asia and Africa at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) in London, UK. For the past 10 years she has been working with Italian and international art institutions to realize visual art projects. Her interests include art curating, feminisms, women’s studies and post-orientalism.
