invisible collections is a collaborative project of Torino Institutions, led by specialists in archaeology, museums and computer sciences, to aggregate and manage big metadata using digital tools and web-platforms or aggregators.

It is cofounded by the University of Torino (UniTO) and the Fondazione CRT and it involves UniTO, the Polytechnic of Torino (PoliTO), the Centro Ricerche Archeologiche e Scavi di Torino per il Medio Oriente e l’Asia (CRAST) and the Fondazione Torino Musei–Museo d’Arte Orientale (MAO).

The project aims to promote and disseminate over the internet part of the city’s cultural heritage, making available museum collections that are undisplayed, and thus invisible. Focus of this project are the collections of archaeological object coming from the sites of Seleucia on the Tigris and Veh Ardashir, in nowadays Iraq.
